Watched and Waited Hickory spoon

I’d been keeping an eye on a hickory tree that had galls (small burl-like bumps) on most of its exterior. One day a friend called to say the tree had been felled and the wood removed. I identified the tree service that had done the work and the very cooperative owner cut some usable pieces for me. A lot of the wood had defects that made it unsuitable for use but I was able to create a few spoons including this one.
